The Car Part Art Project

This web app was developed as part of an piece of art I produced for a friend's birthday present. The finished artwork was a collection of nine 210mm x 210mm prints mounted on individual frames. I'm currently investigating ways of providing a mechanism for ordering your own version online, but in the meantime if you are interested in commissioning a piece, please email carpartart at mcqn dot net (replacing the AT appropriately).

How It Works

The grid below shows a random arrangement of nine images, randomly chosen from those shown in the thumbnails at the bottom of the page. Refreshing the page, or clicking the "Reload" button will get you a freshly chosen set of images.

If you particularly like any of the images, clicking on it will refresh the page but also add that image to the list of "locked" images which will always be chosen in the group of nine. You can either click on the image in the 3x3 grid, or the thumbnail (which give you a way to choose images without having to wait for them to be randomly chosen).

Obviously, you can only have a maximum of nine images in the locked list, but clicking on an image which is already locked will remove it from the locked list.
